Amy Winehouse’s father said at first that she had emphysema and painted a rather grim picture of her dropping dead if she didn’t give up her bad ways. But then economics stepped in. Her publicist said that she did not have the disease. I am sure the publicist must have given Amy’s father a piece of his mind as later a chastened Mitch Winehouse said she only had some symptoms of the disease!
Amy Winehouse, after being discharged from the clinic, promptly reverted to her old bad ways. The first thing that she did after stepping out was to buy a pack of cigarettes and started puffing away! According to her father, if his daughter continues to smoke drugs and cigarettes it will do her great harm. But either Amy does not seem to have understood the situation. Or maybe she is in destructive mode and beyond caring.
Now that she is in better shape after the stint at the hospital, Winehouse is all raring to get back to work. She is all set to start preparations for Nelson Mandela’s birthday celebrations and Glastonbury.
But nothing seems to have changed. The hospitalization might have helped Amy but the basic problems remain. Her wild lifestyle is unlikely to change. She is already smoking and one really doubts if she has the necessary will power to stop the drug habit. We can only wait and pray that God has mercy on her and gives her the strength to mend her wild ways. Otherwise another stay in the hospital does not seem too far away.
