‘24′ star Kiefer Sutherland is off to jail. Emmy Award winning actor Sutherland will serve 48 days in jail after pleading no contest to drink driving charges. Sutherland will do his time during breaks in filming for his TV drama ‘24′.

Sutherland, 40, will serve 30 days for driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08 percent, as well as 18 days for violating his probation for a 2004 drunken driving offence.

In addition, the actor is also banned from driving for six months and must attend alcohol education classes for 18 months as well as weekly therapy sessions for six months.

The actor said, ‘I apologize for my poor judgement and for the distress the case caused to my family, friends and co-workers.’

Now Sutherland must have understood that law is for everyone, not just common people!
