Kurt Cobain gets a monument engraved with the 'F-word'

Rock legend Kurt Cobain has stirred up a new controversy. A new monument erected in the memory of the late Nirvana frontman carries a quote attributed to him which contains an F-word without the bleep. The monument, erected at a neighborhood park, reflects his quote - “Drugs are bad for you. They will f@#% you up” - and has already raked up a huge controversy in his hometown of Aberdeen, Wash.

According to Fox News,

The Daily World reports the property is considered a right of way for both Tori Kovach, who lives adjacent to the land and had the idea for the park, and the city, which also owns the nearby Young Street Bridge, where Cobain is said to have spent some time in his youth. Cobain struggled with drugs and committed suicide in 1994.

Aberdeen Mayor Bill Simpson says the city Parks Board will consider the fate of the F-word on the stone marker. Grays Harbor Monument donated the granite stone, which bears eight quotes; Kovach submitted the ones he wanted used.

I don’t think there’s a need for any hue and cry over this matter, because Cobain’s quote justifies itself very clearly. An F-word is 100 times more tolerable than the ugly drug culture. And what better way to highlight the ills of drug than with such a harsh statement!

Moreover, the ones who are still hellbent on raising their eyebrows should expect a generous serving of F-words from Courtney Love. I hope I’ve made my point clear.
