Former Spice girl Mel B is sure that Eddie Murphy is the father of her two-week-old daughter Fortuna Daphne Bay as has mentioned his name as the father on her daughter’s birth certificate.
Mel has hired a top lawyer to prove his paternity in court. A source told Britain’s Closer magazine,
Mel has no doubt Eddie is the father and she wanted to make the point.
While Mel is determined to prove the paternity of Eddie, the singer has vowed he will play no part in the child’s upbringing. The source added,
She doesn’t want him involved because he has hurt her too much. She just feels that he will have to accept responsibility at some point and there was no need for him to be so dismissive of their relationship.
Dreamgirls actor Eddie started dating Mel after his divorce from Nicole Mitchell last year. However, as Mel announced her pregnancy, Eddie demanded a proof of his paternity. He said,
I don’t know whose that child is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions.
