Puerto Rico Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza, 18 have been crowned as Miss Universe 2006. Interestingly the stunning lady collapsed during a post-pageant press conference on Sunday. She posed for the cameras a few minutes back and fainted at the center of the stage at the Shrine Auditorium. Mendoza was leaning on an assistant when her face fell off to her chest and she collapsed in her arms.
Pageant representative Lark Anton talked to press later and said that she was wearing a heavy, beady dress and its hot up there so she got dizzy and fainted. However, she was immediately rushed offstage and was back into senses soon. She is doing great now. Poor lady, she might be starving herself from long to flaunt a sexy figure at the event.
Miss Japan, Kurara Chibana, 24, was named as first runner up and Miss Switzerland Lauriane Gillieron, 21 won the Second runner-up crown.
