Angelina Jolie has filed a petition to change the name of her newly-adopted child. Pax Thien was adopted by Jolie from a Vietnamese orphanage last march.

The petition filed in L.A. County Superior Court seeks to change the child’s name from Pax Thien Jolie to Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt.

Jolie is the sole adoptive parent of Pax Thien and hence the child’s name on the adoption papers was listed as Pax Thien Jolie. But she wants to change the child’s name so that it reflects her partner Brad Pitt’s last name.

Incidentally, all of Jolie’s children have their names ending with Jolie-Pitt.

Now, this should end the rumors that the couple are on the verge of splitting. Well done Jolie.
