A few weeks ago, entire Britain was waiting for Prince William and his beloved girlfriend Kate Middleton to announce their engagement. But now all are flabbergasted over their split and are speculating over what could have happened.
After four years of courtship William, 24, and Middleton, 25, called off their relationship, without citing any reason. Clarence House, affirmed the split but declined to comment.
The British press devoted pages to the breakup on Sunday, but none could cite a solid reason for the break off. Some are blaming pressure from Prince Charles while others are reasoning William’s focus on his military career. Some are also speculating Prince’s relationship with another woman.
The Sun has written that William’s friend Arthur Edwards revealed that his pal was scared of commitment after the bitter breakup of his parents, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, who divorced when William was 14.
