‘The Simple Life’ star Nicole Richie was arrested for DUI Monday morning for investigation of driving under the influence after her car was reported headed the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank.
Nicole was stopped by officers while driving the wrong way on State Highway 134 and was booked at 4:50 am and was released around 7:15am.The booking sheet reveals Richie is 5′1″ and 85 lbs.
The two motorists spotted her black Mercedes SUV going the wrong way and they called the police. When the CHP (California Highway Patrol) responded, Richie was stopped in the carpool lane and was alone in the vehicle. When cops approached the vehicle, Richie was on her cell phone.
Nicole admitted that she had taken Vicodin and smoked pot. But a preliminary alcohol screening device revealed that Nicole was not under the influence of alcohol. While Nicole was at the jail she was ‘very cooperative and very humble’, said one law enforcement source.
This is not a new thing for Nicole, 25, in 2003 also she was pleaded guilty for heroin possession but later charges were dismissed after she completed terms of probation.
It is rumored that Nicole has hired celebrity lawyer Howard Weitzman but yet no comment had come from her representative. It is also rumored that Nicole may have been on her way back from Glendale, where she was secretly dating Joel Madden, Hilary Duff’s ex. The pair was spotted on Friday, too, at the Chateau Marmont.
