Runner-up Katharine McPhee, hugged him and thanked all her fans for making her dream for an idol experience come true. Later, Taylor launched into his first single ‘Do I Make You Proud?’
American Idol Host Ryan Seacrest disclosed that over 200 million people around the globe were watching the show that night and nearly 63.4 million votes were casted. Taylor admitted that he was completely stunned when his name was announced and he had to tell himself ‘Don’t just fall to the floor. Don’t let your knees buckle.’
Taylor has won a $1 million recording contract and a Ford Mustang convertible.
